Formed primarily from volcanic rock, St. Lucia has a striking and unusual beauty, with the high twin peaks of Gros Piton and Petit Piton dominating its verdant coastline. Largely covered in tropical forest and home to soft, sandy beaches and natural harbors, there’s plenty to explore. At La Soufriere, you can lounge near waterfalls and lather yourself in medicinal sulfur mud for a DIY spa treatment. Or, try a guided hike of the twin peaks to see out for miles. With warm trade winds, the island is ideal for sailing and yacht excursions, and water sports like kiteboarding, surfing, water skiing and fishing are also popular.
